Description
The PhD candidate will work on an innovative approach combining catalysis (homogeneous and enzymatic) with ring-opening reactions to modify lignin, providing functional groups that enhance its solubility and compatibility. These lignins will then be incorporated into bio-based polymers, and their impact on the mechanical and functional properties of textiles will be evaluated.Skills required
The candidate should have a strong background in organic chemistry and catalysis, as well as in structural analysis techniques (NMR, GC, thermal analysis). Experience in biocatalysis (lipases) and materials characterization (rheology, mechanical testing) would be an asset. The PhD candidate should also demonstrate the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team, adapt to a variety of experimental approaches, and collaborate with partner laboratories. The doctoral program will be complemented by appropriate additional training.Bibliography
