Description
This doctoral project aims to investigate the non-equilibrium dynamics of interacting quantum many-body systems, with a two-fold focus: first on closed quantum systems driving toward (or failing to achieve) thermalisation, and secondly on open quantum systems subject to dissipation and decoherence. Particular emphasis will be placed on regimes of slow dynamics and weak ergodicity breaking, and on the interplay between theory and experiment using state-of-the-art quantum simulators.See detailed pdf for more information.
Skills required
We look for passionate and motivated students with a strong interest in many-body quantum physics. No specific background is necessary: just curiosity and the desire of learning everything that is necessary to know. If you are looking for a Ph.D. in many-body quantum physics, this is your occasion! Do not hesitate to write to Leonardo Mazza to have more information on the project.Bibliography
